So I was talking to Joel on Wednesday, and we're looking at giving Mondays a try for hill runs... why not start out the week with a tough workout? Actually, my thought was that it would be good to space out the hill and speed workouts to give a recovery day - Tuesdays - for easy training runs. Joel put up a blog post earlier today, but it never hurts to get the word out more... We're looking at next Monday to start, in hopes of getting out most weeks.
By chance, I ended up taking some back roads near Hawley on my way back to the lake and found more great hills, so we'll try to mix up the routes. If you can need to skip a week here and there, hey, that's OK - we all have things that gotta get done. Hopefully some others will join us Monday when we head east...

Hey Scott, sorry to hear about the injury. Hope you get things figured out and you're back on the roads soon. I'm going to be off the hills for at least a few weeks myself because of Grandmas and probably some recovery time.

Hey all you backroads - runners! I have some bad news for tonights run. I won't be able to make it. I have a S1, L5 disc problem which means nerves are pretty pinched right now and running is out of the question for the "near future," whatever that means! I can give directions to different roads for those that may want to venture east, but riding in the car right now really doesn't work for me and I'm pretty sure I won't be able to fit everyone on my bike handlebars either so I basically am out for facilitating the drive out east until the back/leg issues clear up or are rehab'ed properly.

Let me know if anyone has any questions or needs, I'll help as much as I can to facilitate rural run's!

I'm definitely in for the hill runs..thursdays work good for me. I need to get back into training mode for the Ragnar Relay and TC Marathon. Mind and body have been slow to come around since coming back from my trip.

Yeah, I have to admit the Beyond Running/Grilling community of "almost canadian's" are the Bee's Knee's!

I've really enjoyed exploring nearby roads, trails, wildlife, and ahem . . ahem . . rural aroma's which permeate amongst some of the feedlots - we've found that freshly spread manure in combination with the right cross-wind makes you run faster splits!

I'll echo Tim's two cents. This is what Beyond Running and our community page is about. I definitely want to join you guys on the gravel sometime soon! And Scott, you've given me a craving for honeynut cheerios...maybe I'll have to skip the FF half in favor of those?!?

Scott, THANKS for all of your efforts to make this happen, as well as having it be enjoyable.I'll see you at 6pm at Beyond Running.

My best to all who are opting to do the FF Half! I'll think about you guys when I'm having my honeynut cheerios on Sat. Morning! Hope to see you guys next week on Tues and possibly Thursday! Maybe next thursday we'll do a different route - I'll go out there this weekend and find a good scenic/moderate gravel route. I have a route in Glyndon which may be fun to run.

I was thinking about heading to the hills with you guys this week, but I'm going to delay a week. Want to recover fully from last night's workout and, like Steve, hoping to run the FF 1/2 marathon this weekend...if my calf holds out.

By the way, I'm thinking about doing the half marathon trail race at this event in late October. Thought I'd float it out there to see if anyone else is interested: http://www2.thenorthface.com/endurancechallenge/races/2009/wi/index.html
