Up to yesterday, my longest run had been a half marathon. I decided to try a 15 mile run. It rained/drizzled for 12 miles of the run. I decided after 3 miles of running in the rain that it wasn't that bad. Once I made this decision, the run was a lot more enjoyable. I am feeling sore because instead of taking it nice and slow, I ran a good 30-45 seconds faster than I should of. I had about 10 oz of Powerade at miles 3 & 10.5 and Gu Energy Gel at miles 7.5 & 13. I don't know if this was enough hydration though. I had drank a lot of water the day before. I could tell that I depleted some nutrient. I really wanted a banana but didn't have one. I will have to plan better the next time and see what works and what doesn't. I have some time to figure this out before I start marathon training in January with the Beyond Running Group. Please let me know if you have any suggestions!
