Beyond Running

Just a note of warning: Beware sidewalks full of slippery, slimey, wet, crab apples. With all the rain we have been having, it has turned some of the sidewalks into treacherous stretches of rotten fruit. I almost biffed it on a run last night...it reminded me of running in the bog at the filthy 5K. *sigh* But at least during the filthy your prepared to fall.

Here's another one I need to get off my chest. Have you ever been running along in a resedential area, and suddenly you get a big nose full of fabric softner? Like someone has the dryer going, and the vent must be near the sidewalk, and you get a big face full of Downey Freshness? I love fabric softner, but when your 3 miles in on a five mile run, and you hit a wall of that, it makes me gag a little bit. Maybe it's just me.

Congrats to you on finishing your first Half Marathon! Thats awesome! There is no greater feeling knowing all the hard work you put into it rewards you in a great finish. it makes all the pain and discomforts we feel afterwards worth while. Keep it up Rhonda...again great job!
